Rusty Wallace Racing Experience

Phoenix Raceway, formally known as PIR is a 1-mile low-banked tri-oval track located in Avondale, Arizona. PIR opened in 1964 and currently hosts two NASCAR race weekends per year. PIR was constructed with a 2.5 mile road course that ran both in and outside of the main track. In 1991 the road course track was reconfigured with the current 1.5 mile interior layout. The PIR grandstand seating capacity is around 67,000. In 2004 lights were installed following the addition of a 2nd annual NASCAR race weekend.
